How it feels to Fail for a Decade

I was speaking to a young Digital Marketer last night and he was amazed when he learnt I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2012. It wasn’t until 2018 that I experienced any kind of little success.

He asked me how I managed to keep on persisting. I told him I didn’t. At a time, after experiencing debilitating failure, I gave up and joined the Church, became a leader there and served God diligently.

By any measure, my real “mates” in this tech thing are the founders of Paystack, Piggyvest and Flutterwave. We all started same time. By that standards, I’m very much a failure. And I remind myself daily.

Luckily , I was around 17/18yrs old when I started so I’ve had a lot of time to fail. 2022 will make it a decade since I started. Many people can’t and won’t persist that long.

Nevertheless, in concluding, if you want to do anything, start a business, pursue a passion, go back to school, 2022 is the time to do it. Time will not wait. There will never be a “right” time.

Carpe Diem. Seize the day.
